Driver’s License:

If you move to Florida and have a valid license from another state, you must get a Florida license within 30 days of becoming a resident. You are considered a resident of Florida if you: enroll your children in public school or register to vote or file for homestead exemption or accept employment or reside in Florida for more than six consecutive months. To get a Florida license, contact the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, 11319 Ponce de Leon, Brooksville, Fl 34601. Vehicle Title and License Tag: Must be obtained at the Tax Collector’s Office within ten days after establishing residency, becoming employed or placing children in school.

Auto Insurance: Must obtain auto insurance from a company licensed to do business in Florida. (See Yellow Pages)

Disabled Parking Permit: Obtain on-line at www.co.hernando.fl.us/visit/newresident.htm

Register to Vote: Apply at the local Driver’s License Office.
